What if we make breathing our best medicine?

Breathing is an act of magic. When you inhale, oxygen enters your lungs. Oxygen is essential to generate energy in the body. That clean air navigates throughout your body and, through circulation, drives the uptake of nutrients. And when you exhale, you let go of carbon dioxide.

Breathing is very simple and very complex at the same time. Our body breathes without us noticing. But when we are very identified with our breathing, we can identify all its benefits. Breathing is like realizing something that you have always been but never noticed (a mark on a wall, a figure on a mat), and once you notice it, it is one of life's greatest gifts.

When we take short breaths, the only thing we are really doing is deprived of all the energy and possibilities that oxygen has for us. Think about those moments when you get angry about something or someone; your breaths become shorter and more continuous, and instead of relaxing and reflecting on the situation, your breathing makes you feel anxiety and stress. Crying regularly is accompanied by this type of breathing.

But what if from now on we are more specific? And, now, whenever we are in tense situations, we take a moment to breathe deeply. To expand and contract our diaphragm. To perceive how it records the air from our nose to our navel, and then returns. Breathing is also turning inside, having a moment to listen and feel the energy flow. When I breathe, I feel like I am restarting my body, I inhabit the present, I generate a state of peace and tranquility and I let myself be.

This is my beauty recommendation for you today. Fill your days with this oxygenation ritual: in the morning, in the evening, before eating, before sleeping, in the chair, at the table, sitting, standing, alone and accompanied. Start now!
